what do you guys think of these pickups? im looking for a real mid/late 60's kinda guitar tone for a mexican standard strat with an all maple neck. Id probably play alot of hendrix, chilli peppers, clapton, stevie ray, originals and blues. but more the point is to have a strat sound like if i got it at that time, mid/late 60's. if not these then what other pickups are the best, i dont care how much they cost, just not getting custom made pickups. i play the strat through a marshall tsl100 halfstack. thanx alot

If you want the best get a set of Antiquity Surers...these would be the best for what you want...

Yep, or a set of SSL-1's if you'd rather go the production route. :burnout:

yeah..The ANTS really are't Custom made, just handmade...I say that so people know that you don't have to wait on them.

I think Wattage has a set, hopefully he can chime in.

Never tried the Fender 69's, but I agree with what the others have said: the Antiquity Surfers would be the #1 choice and SSL-1's #2...the SSL-1's are now available as a prepackaged calibrated set too. I've compared both to the pickups in my old '63 Strat and both are very very close. Fralin Vintage Hots would be right up there with the Surfers too, though I prefer the bridge pickup in the Surfer set...it's stronger. I use the Fralin SP-43 with the Vintage Hot neck and middle in my Strat...can't be beat. Though the Surfers equal it. Lew
