I have two Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups that I wired into my Squier Strat with a Humbucker in the Bridge (SD '59). They are the correct pickups for the positions they are in (neck and middle).
Something I noticed when I wired it up, was that I had to reverse the Black and Yellow on the middle pickup, otherwise at least one of the in-between positions would be thin and horrible (out of phase sounding).
Does this mean that the middle pickup is Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity?
If so, then is there a way I should have wired it so that the in between positions are hum cancelling? I noticed when I tried a US Deluxe HSS Strat recently that it was Hum Cancelling on some of the Single Coil positions, which I liked as those Texas Specials really like to hiss and hum!
