Re: fender cyber twin

There is a head version of the cyber twin:

I tested out one of the heads at a local music shop round here. I left the experience less than inspired. The stock settings were soaked in reverb, and I couldn't seem to figure out how to tweak it after a good 10 minutes or so of fiddling with the controls.

I can't comment on how it sounded beyond that though. I'm a plug-in-and-play kinda guy, all that fiddling with knobs just irritates me.

Re: fender cyber twin

I had one when it first came out. I personally was less than pleased with it overall. Not that anyone needs a practice amp that loud and feature rich , but it would be cool to have one to sit in the corner whenever I wanted to see knobs move on their own. Its funny because like all Fenders this one doesn't do the gain thing in a way that I find pleasing to the ears. It is somewhat fun to mess with the different tone stacks and options it gives, but there again I could never use it as my main amp. The tones just bored me.

EDIT: FWIW I know a lot of guys around here swear by the Vox digital stuff. Gearjonser is a big fan and he has plenty of boutique stuff. My logic says if someone has the amps he has and has a digital amp like the Vox it must be pretty good.

stratdeluxer has a cyber...iirc!?

I sold it cause the Vox Valvetronix VTH head was better overall....Great for clean Fender tones, nice effects and a deep effects amp..The gain tones were just ok though.
