Should be a little easier than trying to find a USA Lefty Jazzmaster!!! You probably have already checked, but the greatest resource for lefty guitars is www.southpaw.net I think they're out of Houston? I've never been to the store but I've always dreamed of walking into it and being able to pull any guitar off the rack and play it. These righties just don't realize how good they've got it.

Good luck, and let me know if you find a Jazzmaster!

By the way... I think StratDeluxer is a lefty too and he plays Fenders... maybe send him a message?

Tch, just flip 'em over and restring 'em -- Jimi did it, why can't you?

Joking aside, is there anything "bad" about stringing a lefty guitar for righty or vice versa? Intonation problems or things like that? It seems like it should be the same but I also never thought pickups could impact tone as much as they do.

I have done the opposite, as in re-strung a lefty to make it right-handed. (It was a encore strat copy, and i got it for £10!!!) And its not as easy as it looks, sure it works fine (had to flip the nut aswell obviously) but as its a strat type all the knobs get in the way rediculously. It may just be my strumming style, but its uncomfortable to play due to the angle i have to have my strumming hand at, also the switch that mostly gets knocked is the closest to the strings (the volume) so all of a sudden ill brush past it and loose all volume. I am getting used to it more as i play it more, but its no substitute to owning a guitar specifically designed to be right handed. On the upside it certainly looks individual and it does get attention. I suppose if jimi and numerous others have done it then it must get easier as you get used to it

It's not so bad with an electric, aside from the knobs being in a bad spot. Good to find a double cutaway if you are. It's steel string acoustics you have to be careful with. The soundboard bracing is different for righties and lefties. If you've got a junker and don't mind f-ing it up then go ahead, but I wouldn't do it to a nice guitar. The bracings are specifically set up to support the different string tensions. Also on most steels you'll notice the bridge is slanted so you may run into intonation difficulties. A classical guitar is much easier.... straight bridge.
