It's fun. It's an exercise in guitar daydreaming.

Of course the dream is destroyed -- utterly -- as soon as the price appears in the upper right-hand corner.

Your mileage may vary if you're a trust-fund baby or a recent lottery winner. Good luck and godspeed.

I noticed the same ending. For that price you can get the best of everything off of a Warmoth design including some great Seymour Duncan pups! That's the reason I haven't gone there (bought a design your own Fender) and wondered if anyone here might have at least played one and be able to share whether it plays like a 2k guitar. Thanks...

$1,899.99, and I squandered the opportunity by trying to replicate a hardcore vintage Tele -- which I couldn't quite do with the options available.

Fact is, as someone who really only dabbles in the original Fender designs, I tend to be easily pleased by existing configurations.

I've designed a few just for kicks but one look at the price tag and my heart falls into my stomach. I can't afford that! So until I get a rich wife who will support me in the lifestyle with which I wish to become accustomed to, they'll remain dreams.

Too expensive, and not enough options. Get a G&L instead, and choose from about 50 colors, different neck profiles/radii, different frets, different finishes, binding if you want it, etc., plus pay the same or less, and get an instrument that has notably better build quality.

How about a pre-owned Fender American Standard or American Deluxe with a pickup upgrade?

Had a Custom Shop Strat for a bit; far and away the best Fender I've ever touched.

Is this an advert for how limited the options are at Fender?

No Floyd?
No dual humbuckers?
Only Alder or Ash for a strat?
