Fender DeVille Pots - Which Ones?

I Have a Fender 60 watt 410 Deville combo, and the volume and master pots are scratchy, they've been well-cleaned by a tech, but it's still there. What kind and value of pots do I need to replace them?

Re: Fender DeVille Pots - Which Ones?

Alnico 8.

Seriously though the best idea is to pull the chassis out, because it's likely a PCB with small pots soldered to it.
You may not be able to use regular pots, and have to order the exact part numbers so the pins will line up right.

I could be wrong, but anytime I've fixed a newer Fender amp, I needed to use the factory part.

Re: Fender DeVille Pots - Which Ones?

Confirmation. PCB-mount pots.

Since you are going to venture in there, consider changing several of the pots to aid better performance of the amplifier. e.g. The linear taper Volume pot can be upgraded to audio taper.

There is a section in the well-known Hot Rod Deluxe Mods website with specific suggestions for the HR Deville. http://www.justinholton.com/hotrod/

Hopefully, trevorus will post in this thread and tell you exactly what needs doing.

Stay safe.

OMG BLUEMAN OWNS A FENDER

WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO

Amp, not guitar, and I'm only wanting to replace the pots so I can sell it. Bought it on a whim and haven't used it in many years. The thing's like new otherwise.
