Re: Fender Dual Showman?

In essence a Fender Showman is a Twin in a head format. It is a great head.. very clean and very loud. Clapton used this amp when he did the Derek and the Domino's tour. The primary difference between this and a twin is you can plug the Showman into a variety of speaker cabinets giving you a much wider assortment of sounds you can get from say a 4 12 cab vrs a 4 10 cab. IMO I prefer the Super Reverb. Less wattage = easier to deal with the volume. If you need Hi wattage and a good clean sounding amp I don't think you can find anything better than a showman. Main reason why they are more affordable than others is a lot of people find the twin easier to move from Gig to gig.

I'm not sure.. It would depend on its age and condition. I have a friend that deals in vintage fender amps I will ask him and post info!

Re: Fender Dual Showman?

you mean the head and cab together should sell for around 500 or just the head? cause i have one available here for $350, probably could get it down to 325.....its a 68, real good condition

Re: Fender Dual Showman?

I meant just the head! The cab is loaded with I believe Jensen 12" speakers. If you can get the head for around 350, and you need volume and clean I would get it!!

Re: Fender Dual Showman?

Very hard to find,But there where some Dual Showmans w/t Reverb.
It's about 5 or 6 inches taller than the Non-reverb model ( it looks kinda Silly)
I got my Twin real cheap Cuz' someone swaped it into a showman or bandmaster reverb head. I hated the way it looked on my 2x12 cab.
Luckly I found someone to trade my head cab for a Twin Cab.
So it was back to being a twin again :)

Re: Fender Dual Showman?

If you've found a Showman for $350, buy it, don't haggle over the price. That's a great deal. They're a real brute when it comes to power output. Ted Nugent used 6 of them hooked up to Dual Showman cabinets in the late 70's. Plenty o' power!
