Hi!

someone with experience using Fender Custom Shop Fat 50 pickups?

Can you tell me how will sounds a bridge fat 50 if i put it in neck position? Too fat?

Re: Fender fat 50 Bridge on neck

It should be just fine, it's only 6.5k. You might need a bridge pickup a bit stronger for good balance though, depending on your personal taste.

I think the specs are pretty much the same between the bridge and the neck Fat 50s. The middle pup is similar, but reverse wound.

Fat 50's are some of the best voiced single coils out there, and I've A/B'd them with some nice ones. In blind tests with good guitar players listening, I've had guys pick them over high dollar strat pickups.

That said... You're fine. Pair it with a stronger bridge and you'll be happy you went that route.

No problem here unless your guitar has a pretty dark sound, in this case you could lost some of the fender sparkles (that would be pro and not a con, it depends on your taste).
My SSL1 neck is 6.4K ohm and it is on a alder body/rosewood fretboard strat, it does one of the best tone I've ever heard.
