What do you think; would adding these pickups give the stock RI pickups that super-saturated tones that dripped like honey from the originals?

I don't know if it would make them sound like the CuNiFe-loaded Wide-Range pups, but it might make them a bit warmer than the ceramics.

The re-issues are just conventional humbuckers with a 3+3 look to them. The real deal actually had CuNiFe magnets (apparently very hard to find) made into the actual screws, as there was no bar magnet.

The closest replicas out there are Lollar Regals.

+1. A8's give more warmth and some alnico feel, more character than ceramics.
