Hi,
I'm 16 and I've been playing guitar for probably 5 1/2 years now, primarily electric for around 4 of those. Me being a lazy s*** with no job and not enough money has so far equalled me playing my 6 and 7 string guitars on a 15 watt Peavey Audition with a Digitech RP80 effects box. About 6 weeks ago I got a job at my local music shop which has given me a bit of a cash boost. For a while I've really wanted a Fender Mustang III 100 watt modelling amp; my school used to have one and it made pretty much any guitar in our music room sound fantastic whether it be the American Strat or Mexi-Tele, or some of the lesser quality cheap Affinity Strats. That's option one and its $520. Since I now work in a music store, I know whats on sale and when, and at the moment the Hayden MiniMOFO 15 watt head is on special for $300, down from $500. Thats option two. If I was to get the Mustang it would most likely be for a christmas or birthday present (both fall in the same week), therefore equalling me not spending any money. If I was to get the Hayden, it would be my money plus possibly a second hand Randall or Mesa cab OR run it through the Mustang, if that is possible.

So basically my questions are
1. The Fender, the Hayden OR both?
2. If I get both, can I run the Hayden through the Mustang or would I have to get a completely separate cab?

Thanks for any answers, all are greatly appreciated :D

PS: Sorry if this all sounded a 'noob-y', just because I work in a music shop doesn't mean I'm smart with music stuff...yet ;)

I can't really help you, but I can tell you for sure that I love my Mustang III....it is Version 1 and I got it used for $180 and bought the 4 button switch for $45. I am glad I did, I just love it. The Mustangs do not hold their value very much, maybe you should consider used and you can get more than one amp.

Thats good to hear :) We have the V.2 in the shop but what does the 4 button switch actually do though? Can you set some favourite presets and switch between them?
