Fender Mustang wiring modification

Hi, I just got a Kurt Cobain Mustang and like it a lot! It plays very solid and the pickups sound very nice, specially the JB. The neck will probably be replaced with either an Antiquity/Novak or a Seymour Duncan Classic Stack Plus. However, that will be later.

For now I want to modify the two 3-way switches to get more sounds out of the guitar and wanted to know if it is possible with the current switches or if i would need to get different switches. Also, it would be nice if i could fit two typical tele 3-way switches instead, but they seem too big for the route of the guitar.

Switch configuration:
Switch 1
Neck
Neck & Middle (in parallel)
Bridge (full hum bucker)

Swith 2
Neck & Middle (out of phase)
Neck & Middle (in series)
Bridge humbucker split

If this is possible, do anyone know where I could find a wiring diagram?
Thanks!

Re: Fender Mustang wiring modification

You can get all of the sounds you want except the two pickups in series with very little modification. I wired my jag-stang to have the bridge switch split the bridge, and left the neck switch the same. This will give either pup by itself or together, both out of phase, and any combination of this with the bridge split.

I know on mine the cavity is very tight so you don't have much extra room for bigger parts. Also, if you put a regular toggle or tele switch there it will be hard the strum/play the guitar.

Thanks Tim!

What type of modification would I need to do to get both pickups in series?
