Fender Neck on Epiphone Sg

I realise this probably is impossible because of the scale length. However I have found a super cheap Epiphone second hand sg that I would love to purchase and mod. However for some reason I am not a huge fan of the Epiphone headstock shape (love the brand though) and would like to experiment with changing necks. The Epiphone is a bolt on neck however I am imagining the scale length differences will make this impossible. Is there a hope in hell that it would work?

You'd have to measure 25.5" from the nut back to the bridge to see where the saddles need to sit. You could probably achieve it by just moving the bridge.

If you didn't like the neck shape, I would say buy the cheap Epi and sand it to our liking. If you just don't like the headstock, I wouldn't buy the guitar at all.

Re: Fender Neck on Epiphone Sg

That seems like a lot to go through just because you don't like the headstock shape.

Re: Fender Neck on Epiphone Sg

thats my thought too. reshape the headstock, you could even get straight string pull!

im guessing a fender style neck wont have the same neck joint as well as the scale length issue. waaay easier to mess with the headstock. im sure it could be done but there would be a fair amount of work involved

Okay thanks for all the responses, it wasn't just the headstock, I felt like experimenting but I see all of your points
