Fender Pro Reverb 2002 Reissue - speaker

Good day forumites.

I have acquired this great little, well, not so little, amp. I think it sounds really good. I play blues, blues/rock, rhythm and lead. Amp is in great shape. I have but a small quibble regarding the speaker. It's a Jensen C12N made in Italy. It's not a bad choice for this amp, but I am always tinkering with speakers. Anyone have any experience with this or similar style amp with speaker upgrades that enhance mids and tighten the bass up? I am looking at Eminence line, something that works well with open back cabs. I see the low priced Legend line and I also see the Govenor. A little more expensive, but promising that rich mid bump and English flavor, which I also enjoy. I like american amps with English styled speakers too. Tell me your experience, as I am sure, being so subjective a topic, mileage may vary.
thanks
GB

Re: Fender Pro Reverb 2002 Reissue - speaker

I had the 410 Concert Reverb version of your amp. Unlike the Reissue Series blackface Fenders, the Pro Tube Series featured the best highgain channels Fender ever had, which sounded good at every volume level.

As for speakers, the Swamp Thangs are my first choice in a Fender because they sound huge like EV's.
Or, just hit Craigslist and see what Celestions are priced right. A V30 an 70th Ann H30 is what a lot of boutique 212's come with.

Texas Heats are perfect for twins. The also sound great in any fender amp. I can't see why a pro would be any different.
