K I have two old style 57/62 fender pups they have the vintage stagger, non beveled poles and purple enamel wire with black bobbins,I bought in the mid 90's.Anyhow they ohm'ed out at 6.3K and 6.4K.Being as they are the same poles and wire if they were wound down to say 5.7K would they esentially give me the same tone as CS 69s.Only differance I can see is the grey bobbins vs the black would that make any differance?

The wind pattern has to be different. I found the 57/62's to be cleaner and have a reduced low end compared to the 69's.

Did you try the New style 57/62 that have been out the past few years?
I have the old style that is like the Smith era Fullerton RI strats.Has the purple enamel wire like the 1970's grey bottom pups and non beveled edge poles.
