Not my cuppa but have seen people do this kind of thing in the past. Perhaps the most prolific is Brian May, who mounted a Vox Distortion Booster in his guitar. You can hear it on some songs on the first two Queen albums and quite prominently on the Smile stuff. He installed it in the pre-Queen days when he needed more dirt/sustain, but stopped using it once he got the Rangemaster and AC30s. No eq though, just a switch to kick it in/out of circuit.

Just out of curiosity.. Where is the battery access for the TS9? (Routed back cavity?) I would hate to have to pull the pickguard to replace a dead battery...

That is CRAZY I've never heard of this before. So if the battery dies it's not like the guitar does too right, like with active pickups? It just means you can't use the boost? Routing had to be done right? How much?

The BC-Rich Eagle has this since the '70's. And combined with a phase switch (that guitar has two humbuckers with 4 wires so they can work as a single coil too) you can get interesting sounds.

If anyone knows the Steve Vai overdrive box. That box are two TS9's combined in one box. So it's completely legitimate to add another box on the floor. That way you can get severall tones. From clean to cleanish to crunch to lead...

I have their 5-way 'Clean boost' in one of my guitars, but this is the overdrive version..

These things are tiny & hardly take more than the space of a regular tone pot...all you really need is to find space for the 9V battery...
