Fender Super Bullets

How many Strat guys here use them? I've got a set on my Strat, it's strung at the tuner the with the "locking twist" method, and it does NOT go out of tune, even with somewhat heavy trem usage. I'm curious if the Bullets are responsible for this. The nut is a Fender stock, the tuners are Vintage Fenders, and the bridge is a stock MIM Standard.

BTW, when I say "somewhat heavy trem usage" I don't mean Floyd acrobatics, but way more aggressive than I've ever been able to pull off with a non-locking system, like dumping it to the point where all strings are totally slack.

I've often wondered if Bullets really do help, but I have never them...as a rule I do not like the feel and tone of Fender Strings...maybe I'll have to give them a shot!

I like the way they stay in tune but, I dont like the feel and tone of them also.

i like the bullet end and that's it. plain strings itself doesn't agree with my body chemistry. didn't like the feel and tone of the strings in general.

Funny you mentioned this, I was just thinking about this last night when I was changing strings on my Strat. Overall, I really like Fender strings. They don't last quite as long as some other brands I've tried, but they do feel and sound nice, and they are about half the price of a DR or Gibson set. I think the bullet end does help tuning stability in a trem guitar to a certain extent, but I really don't have any tuning problems either way. With locking tuners and an Earvana nut, I can abuse the trem like it was a Floyd, and it still comes back in tune everytime.

I noticed that after trem usage (well, wanking, in this case, I was taking all the fun out of the old strings before changing) I noticed that the bullet ends got tightly stuck in their holes.. It was kind of hard to push them out with the thinner strings. I guess they sort of "locked" into place.. I'm not sure if that could help with tuning stability.
I restrung it with D'Addarios, though, and I'm happy with those.

i forgot to mention i only used the bullets with a callaham vintage trem and gotoh kluson-style tuners.

I ONLY use Bullets in my Strat, I say if you've got a Vintage tremelo bridge (standard fender) then for tuning stability and maybe other reasons you should go with the bullets. They are designed for that type of bridge, so if any of my guitars have that bridge, they get those strings.

I have no problem using them, aside from the limited variety of guages.
