fender texas special vs. fralin blues special

Can anyone tell me how fralin blues specials compair to texas specials?
I know texas specials aren't exactly the greatest when it comes to distortion. Are the fralins any better in that department? I'm looking for a good meaty sounding blues pickup that still sings with some distortion and I like the texas specials, but I've never played the fralins and I've heard they are really great as well. Thanks for your help.

The Fralin Blues Specials as well as the Duncan Antiquities (Surfers and Texas Hots) are as close to a vintage Strat as I have heard. I don't own a set of Fralins, but I have both Surfers and Texas Hots....... These are better than any other pickup I have had in my guitars. The name emplies the use...... these are blues/bluesrock type of pickups. For me there absolutley fantastic. I get really great clean chime and when I drive them they respond very well. So when you say distortion, what type of distortion are you meaning?

When I say distortion, I'm talking like a Joe Bonamassa kind of thing. The only set of "vintage" pickups I've ever owned were fenders vintage noiseless. I'm not sure how they compare to true vintage sounding pickups, but I've always thought they were a bit glassy and thin for blues. I'm looking for something a little bit thicker and more raw sounding than those were. Would the duncan antiquities or the fralins fit that bill?
