Fernandes bass: HS-01?

Hi
I'm a guitarist but I want to pick up bass. Sadly, I don't know a thing about them.
I saw this HS-01 at the shop going for $250 (Singapore dollars).

I just want something to learn on. I'm familiar on the guitar - just gotta get used to the big fret spacing and thick strings.
Will this be appropriate?

Can't say if it's not appropriate or not. Pick up some basses and play 'em. If you're not comfortable with any of them, get the one that's the least uncomfortable.
