FG-101n

Re: FG-101n

Welcome to the forum.

I have never tried the DunDes FG-101n (FG = Fred Gretsch?) but I do own three TV Jones Classic Filter'Tron replica pickups.

The only issues for installing a TVJ pickup in your Schecter would be;
1) obtaining the correct mounting type (and plastic surround)
2) parting with money
3) the disappointment when the 'Tron poops all over the DunDes bridge pickup. (More expense!)

I have yet to be disappointed with any TVJ pickup. Even with the European distributor's mark up added to the price, I think that they are worth it.

Quick suggestion. One other TVJ pickup that might suit your Schecter is their De Armond replica.

I was hoping to hear more from users of the FG-101n. Is anybody out there? :yell: :biglaugh:

And are the TVJones' weaker on the bass side? I keep reading and researching and saw somewhere that a characteristic of a filter'tron designed pup is strong highs and (relatively speaking) weaker lows. I know you can't believe everything you read, but?????

If I knew for absolutely sure that I'd like the TVJ's, I'd spring for one for the neck. The bridge Seymour Duncan HB is quite decent to my ears.
