Finally Finishing my Bass

I bought this P-Bass kit way back and now that I'm home for the holidays I'd like to finish her up.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be shaping the headstock and drilling holes for the bridge. I'm also going to order a cheap black pickguard for the final assembly.

What I'm not sure what to do is how to finish it. I wanna go with a sort of Semi-Gloss or Satin Olympic White and clear on the neck.

Should I go with Polyurethane? Nitro? Oil?What's easy to apply and does well with a solid finish?

Should I go with brushed on finishing material or Spray?

I was thinking of going with a spray can Nitro Lacquer. Anyone with experience with these?

East Cobb

Tru Oil the neck and you can white wash the body for sort of a Mary Kay finish. What is the body wood?

The body is Paulownia.SUPER SOFT. Not the prettiest grain, so I was leaning on going solid color. Not fully decided yet.

The body also has quite a few small dents that I'm going to have to wood fill.
