finally got my mic placement right...

i just played a show at my school during our lunch hours in our auditorium today, and i have never been happier with my tone in a performance. we had a somewhat decent PA setup for vocals, but i decided to use my 57 for my amp. i decided to go real simple with mic placement - center of the cone, on axis. it sounded great. better than ever.

that'd be ok for performance live man, but it's not one i like much for recording..

the centre of the cone loses a lot of the harmonics; if you're using a smallish P.A. that adds its own fizz i guess it could work really well! if it works, it's your sound!

ya i have noticed that the 57 on axis a couple of inches from the speaker isnt that great for recording. but it worked really well for that show. i am still messing around with a good mic placement for recording.
