Finally, I dig my Tele!

In 2010, I treated myself to an American Deluxe Ash Telecaster, wine red with S1 switching and N3 pickups. Played like a dream but... I just never bonded with it. As the years came and went I tried to sell it a couple of times but had no takers. So it sat in its case because, well, "everyone needs a Tele, right?!"

Anyway, fast forward to this week and I had a sudden inclination to change out the pickups. Did my research and settled on the new TV Jones Tele set - found a used pair on Reverb for a decent price and installed them today.

Band practice with it tonight and it's true - finally, I dig my Tele!

It's late here now, but I'll try to grab some sound clips over the weekend - though prepare to just react that it sounds like a really great Tele, because it does :)

Fender N3 Noiseless pickups are notorious.

I've always been interested in tele tv jones, how do you compare them with the N3?
(btw, what type of music do you play?)
thank you

Glad you finally dig the Tele! I just finished a Tele project and can't believe I am just now appreciating them! (used Revel pickups for mine.)

Definitely not a fan at all of the N3 pickups...

I've now been playing the TV Jones Tele set for days and they are really, really good. The N3s are, by comparison, more dead-sounding, a little like they're wrapped in cloth and definitely missing the 'snap' of the TV Jones (and every stereotypical Tele sound).

I play Brit-Americana (a genre I created for myself). My records are at vincenttuckwood.bandcamp.com - the latest is Turquoise Cyan Sapphire.
