Finally...me actually playing lol. My first Olympus LS20M full A/V recording attempt.

Just a quick jam I did before heading out to pick up my kids from class

Guitar's my cheap Cort X6-VPR superstrat with SD Blackouts (using the AHB-2b 'Metal' in the bridge)

This is the first time I've recorded a proper video of me actually playing so I'm a bit stiff & conscious of it lol. It's also my first try with my new Olympus LS-20M A/V recorder ...lowest quality setting I think (it's the default setting), have'nt quite got how to change it yet (manual's in Japanese lol). Anyway..it's over a backing track/progression I've jammed on before..just, this time it's me noodling away in the flesh

As for my snakeskin Cort ...it's pure awesomeness The pup's cost more than the guitar :lmao: but I would'nt swap it for a Soloist or a Prestige ....not kidding

I was referring to a forum regular who many of us are dying to hear play in any form whether it be a clip or video but it's unlikely it will be in our lifetime

..so was I man. I think he actually did post a clip a couple of years ago too..of a new (old) Marshall stack or something....it sounded...um ..interesting

I hate to be the dick here....but here it goes:

There's next to no delay in that first post/vid actually (?) ..I cut it out. I think I can be both heard & seen pretty clearly man..


But if you'd like to check out some other w/o much delay on the solo's..be my guest











I'm a guitar player not a studio/recording wiz & these are just practice/jam sessions with a looper....so that's the context in which they should be taken....

It's not so much the delay. It's the volume (or lack of thereof). The lead is buried under the backing track.

Well there's very little delay, so it can't be that..the solo volume is slightly low but as I've mentioned in here (Tips & clips) before it's pretty tough getting the levels just right/perfect with the looper & cheap phones as "monitors". Too much solo volume & the backing guitar's buried/disappears, too little & well ..it cuts through a bit less.

That (first vid) ^^ actually sounds just right for my tastes through my computer speakers (L/R + sub). I guess a bit of Eq'ing (mid-bump) should set any imbalance right or adjust things for personal preference..or there's headphones for those who'd like to be anal about it
Frankly it's all clear enough to follow (& see) I think..

Personally ..I like my solo's mixed like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYxd8WxQIsU ie....clear but sort of just marginally above/almost like it's weaving in and out of the mix...so that's what I tend to aim for I guess.
