Finally routed the 71 les paul

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

^ thats horrible. The guitar is magnificent, but you need to route the neck for another humbucker..yesterday.

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

Very nice Les Paul Deluxe, put the ABR bridge in the right position.
It's been like that forever. Never got around to flipping it and re-strobing it.

That was the original plan, but the P90 sounds like..... like....... the audio equivalent of kate Beckinsale's face on Scarlett Johansson's body.

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

Not going to lie, I really need to get a Les Paul Deluxe in Goldtop and swap to two Cream P90s.

Glad you are enjoying your guitar.

I did that first, and the bridge P90 sounded too honkey and quacky. A lighter and more mellow guitar would sound glorious though.

Very nice! I have a similar R6 that was routed (and relic job by RS Guitarworks) by a previous owner. I love the pickup combination!

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

I am tiny by comparison, 5'7", about 145. Most LPs kill me, but I played a few Florentines that were comfortable.

Jesus, this guitar is simply righteous.

+1 to the P90 neck/HB combo. The middle position is about as good as it gets IMO

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

That is killer!! Best of both worlds..P90 bark and bucker wail. As far as negative feedback, people are like A$$holes.. Everyone has one ,most stink.. I post by the adage that if you cant post something nice.. I can see how purists probably want to grumble about the mods, but if it trips your trigger... Rock on!

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

10lbs! Wow, my back hurts just reading that. Anything I ever owned over 7 never got played...haha!

Both of my Norlins are over 10lbs. It's manly guitar for manly men. Any metal you play is heavy even before it hits the amp.

I've tried em'......can't stand em'!

Its got a double cream Burstbucker 3 in it currently that sounds fantastic! I had to make it myself swapping coils from a zebra/reverse zebra! Don't tell Larry.......
