I've taught myself quite a bit of my guitar knowlege / ability, and while the likes of BB King, Edge, EVH and Slash have done well by that, I bet there's a ton of improvement to be had by stepping up to work hard and efficiently with a really superior instructor.
I've been unhappy with several of my teachers, and never stuck with them long. They were focused on the wrong specialties, or , pardon my ego, I just flat surpassed them, even with my limited formal training.
Some folks here have suggested that distance training can work. I'm down in San fancisco once a week, and there HAS to be at least a few serious teachers who can fuel my desire to improve a few orders of magnitude. How do I find these situations / people? Any advice would be welcome.
