Finished modding this lp for now

I got a les Paul CM a few months back for under 500. It played well and the 61 wasn’t bad. I wasn’t happy with the bridge on it though, not adjustable and tilting a lot. So after playing it for awhile I decided to start changing things.

Put a hipshot baby grand on it in black, and an invader with SD pole pieces to give that rock and roll attitude.

The G force works much better now and it stays in tune. Maybe it was the lighter strings or the bridge but I had to retune after every song before.

Sam ash still has these for $460. More plans for mine in the future.

Wow, how do you compare this custom Invader to the old one?

This version of the invader is probably closer to a black winter in term of sounds, tighter bass and more defined highs, maybe a little less output but much less fuzz or mush. The highs are more prominent and usable, the bass doesn’t flub out. Part of that could be the maple cap and the D’Addario NYXL’s.

If anyone is interested in the invader mod, DiMarzio now sells the poles for $5 through PayPal.
