Finished Tele

Well... just about finished. I am going to add a set of modern, black, locking tuners asap. It started life as a nashville tele and I made the following mods.

Seymour Duncan 5/2 bridge pickup
GFS Alnico Fatbody neck pickup
Vintage dome knobs
neck pickup phase switched
Electrosocket input cup
Matte black pickguard
Strat switch tip
Black locking strap pins
Chrome mounting ring on neck pickup
Vintage steel/brass bridge
Graphite Nut

Re: Finished Tele

Nice lookin tele man. But I'de personally like it more without that Big chrome pickup mounting ring around the neck pickup. Either way deffinately a Nice lookin tele though.

How does the GFS sound?

The GFS is flawless for what I was looking for, and the price is right. It is very fat yet crisp, and in the center position I get a great strat quack with it out of phase. The neck position is just fat enough to make a great full crunch without the mud.

That's what most people have said; I guess it is a gold tooth of sorts that I dig lol.

Re: Finished Tele

Looks great. I love the chrome trim ring too. It really sets the whole guitar off.
Gives it a bit of a "classic car" motif.

Very nice. :)

Thanx bro, I been trying to figure out what I liked about the ring, I think you nailed it.

Re: Finished Tele

I like the ring, reminds me of when I had the Bill Lawrence pickups in my strat. I didn't want to get a new guard so I had some custom rings made with just mounting screw holes to retrofit the existing one.

Thanks, that's the beauty of asking USACG for some nice figure. Not to derail the thread too badly but it's got some nice flame too :).

Re: Finished Tele

All three guitars in this thread are really awesome! Just so you guys know! That grey body on your strat FretFire, and the pickguard on your tele are just fantastic.

And I like the pup ring. :)

Re: Finished Tele

How do you like the 5/2 in your tele? That pickup has always intrigued me, seems like the best of both worlds...

I have tried about every bridge pup known to man, and for me... nothing comes even close to the 5/2. All my teles have a 5/2 in the bridge, they have very even sound and that classic tele spank minus the hum. The high end shrill is tamed while not making the low end muddy.
