Finished!

Hello, again! I've recently been working on a guitar my uncle gave me! It wasn't great looking when I got it but after all was said and done I'd say it came out perfect for it being the first time me and/or my father have worked on a guitar and it only being my second one. Here are some some pictures of from when it first came to 20 minutes ago.

We just brought it to the local guitar shop and my guitar teacher said it plays really good! From what I can find out it's been sitting in an attic for 20+ years, not in a case or anything in upstate new york so I'm not sure how it's still fine. I feel bad leaving my guitar in the car for 20 minutes when it's 45 degrees out because I'm afraid it's gonna catch cold.

Just ask a question if I forgot anything I guess.

Re: Finished!

Thanks!!! Yeah I was planning on it being purple but I absolutely love the blue!

I love purple guitars too, I used to rock a purple Strat but blue is really my favorite color on most guitars. I really dig the blue you finished this guitar in a lot.

I would love to have a purple strat.. I got this paint from our neighbor, he owns a car body shop and this paint was one of the only colors he had that wasn't silver/black/tan etc and I couldn't love it more.

Re: Finished!

Well done! I NEED a blue and purple guitar...better yet a flip flop! Oh but for that lack of funds and ability! lol

Re: Finished!

Thanks! I just saw a full scale off brand strat with all the electronics and all for 39$ and I feel awful for not getting it... Could've been another Blue/Purple guitar!

Re: Finished!

Thanks! Does anyone else think it needs something on it? My friend said it looks really plain but he absolutely loves the guitar.. I was kinda almost thinking of putting Infinity on it somewhere, probably where it's supposed to go like in these pictures: http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/standard-guitars/25724-jtg-infinity.html But if I were to I'm not sure how or if it's even possible.. It was an infinity at one time but it was painted over like 5 times so we weren't sure until we sanded it off and you could read "IN" and part of an F where the guitar in the pictures above says Infinity.

I think it looks great as it is. When I was your age I probably would have placed some stickers or decals on it but really you did such a fantastic job with the finish I do not see why you would want to cover it up!

I think I'll probably leave this one like it is then!

I actually had my stickers all ready for when it turned out nasty but like you said I don't think it needs anything with the way it came out!

ha! that's pretty wicked man! I really dig it.

What kind of guitar is that?

From what I can tell, it was a JTG Infinity. It seems they were sometime in the 70's so that's like owning a relic to me.

Thats just aWESOME.

Thanks!!!!

Re: Finished!

Bad ass man! Great job on the paint!

Re: Finished!

hOws it play/sound?

Well, to me it sounds great! The humbucker sounds a lot more... I'm not quite sure what it's called with pups but to me, like dirtier or more gain or w/e, which is cool to me! And like I said my teacher played it up and down and he couldn't find a single problem!

Needs more points

If you say so...

great job!
