First song I ever recorded in 1985

EDIT: I should say, in a recording studio.

Echoes of the Past was the first song, along with Forever Forgotten Time. We recorded both on the same day and mixed on another. I knew nothing about recording at the time and this was an eight track studio, so I didn't double the guitars, the engineers for some reason didn't want to use any effects on the guitars, huh boy. Anyway, here it is in all its raw glory, lol. I used my 1975 Gibson Les Paul custom which was loaded with Dimarzio Super Distortions back then through an 81 JCM 800.

I like Forever Forgotten Time better out of the two. Good playing there fella.:smokin:

Sounds like something that would have been in one of those high school movies at the time. That's a nice solo you did.

Like it! The drums sound really 80's and there's a good solo in there too.

Thanks everyone. It's a very dry sounding recording, but that's what this studio seemed to do back then. Thanks for the kudos on the solo. That was my third or fourth take and after the first few, through the glass I could see the worried look on my bandmates and engineers faces. I mean, my first few solos sucked horribly and I was getting nervous. I've never gone into a studio with a solo in mind, I just wing it. When I finished this one, they all stood up and applauded, ha ha. It made me feel pretty good.

That's really rocking! Cool song, and the solo is just the icing on the cake. ;) Thanks for sharing!
