First time fiddling with a 4 holer

I just bought a 1987x modded by Bray and I'm not used to how a four holer works. Its the high treble vol I and the normal vol II. The channels are internally jumpered. I also have dual PPIMV's installed.
I'm wondering how the Vol I and Vol II work together and what they exactly do. Tips on how to blend them and whats going on exactly when I do this.
I just plugged this amp in really quickly for the first time last night and started screwing around turning dials but it would be nice if I knew what I was tweaking.
This is my first time with a plexi design. Tips would be appreciated and a couple of settings to start from as well.
Thanks Chris.

Internally jumpered, hardwired. The only footwitch is for the dual PPIMV's.

Everything on 10. ;) Seriously, that's the most used setting on those amps and there's a good reason for it too. As you may have noticed, the EQ controls aren't as responsive as on a modern amp, or did you have that modified as well ?

No, the tone stack is the same. I see a lot of people with the ''all on 10" setting except for the bass. If in doubt I guess its the best way to go. I'll be trying a few settings tomorrow once I plug into the 4X12.

well you've got a low & high input for each "channel" (i.e. bright channel, normal channel)....

But since the thing is internally jumpered..hmm..I'd shoot bray an email and ask him.

I generally prefer the bright channel hot input...and then "all on 5" usually works really well for a starting point...in that I mean the tone controls...set the volume (which now I assume functions as a "gain" control) where you want/need it.

I never deviated too far from that...I rarely had anything cranked on mine (except the volume :laugh2: ), but I was playing my 1987x through bright crunchy speakers...75s..green backs for example cannot handle as much bass without getting farty..they have a really slicing/sparkly top end though and on my 800 , I dialed back the bass and presence with the GBs.
