First off, just wanna say hey, I'm new here, the name is Garrett. I've been playing for about 4 years now. I recently (August) had to sell my Gibson SG (due to air in the block of the motor in my Nova, and a new distributor $1000 bill!) Worst day of my **** life :28: I just helped my dad out with a ton of job applications (10 to be exact), and he paid me for helping....so I decided to pick up a brand new les paul jr. I didn't mind the stock pickup, but I needed something beefier. I searched and narrowed it down to either the SD SH-5 or the Blackout. And dear sweet lord, am I glad I picked up the Blackout (along with a dozen Snarlin Dog Brain Picks, and a new mounting ring...all for $80 brand new including shipping :1: thanks to a $20 coupon from Musicians Friend. It sounds so amazing, I have heard people bragging about the sound of this pickup, but never played one. My LP Jr. sounds so f***ing good! Clean, and distortion, absolutely amazing. I'm glad I went with SD...not EMG :naughty:
