Ah. Alright. It's a second voice that can be used as a bright humbucker or, as Devin uses it, where he splits to single coil. It's splitting to the outside coils, which have individual pole pieces as well. So they respond like a pole piece pickup. Devin was going for a Tele-ish tone. I realize that's probably not much different than what you've already read. But if there's anything specific I can try to be more nuanced. Like, if I knew your objective was to get Strattier tones as coil splits, then the Tosin's for example are more stratty in the in-between sound, while the Devins are more Tele-ish.
