Fishman Fluence HSS config with SSA SSP and Open Core humbucker

Does anyone have any experience with this setup? I recently purchased the SSA and SSP single coils as well as an open core humbucker.
It was my understanding and its advertised that all the Fluence pickups have two voices. So I assumed since the single width set has
two voices (a vintage strat and a hotter texas sound) that the SSA and SSP would too. I can't find any way to wire them to have a second voice though.
When I contacted Fishman support they used the lame excuse that in positions 2 and 4 it will sound like a different voice for the single coils. As if that's not the case with all single coils.

I'm pretty upset after having dropped $350 on them. Has anyone else wired these up and know what the difference would be from the SSA/SSP single coild and the single coils in the 3 single width set?

Your understanding and my understanding are the same.

On the regular Single Width, the second voice is the Texas Hot sound. On the SSA/SSP the second sound is a used to combine with the Humbucker to give a more authentic “split” sound. Also, I’m not sure that the SAA/SSP is voiced identical to the regular single width, they may be voiced to blend better with the Humbucker.

Also, the interesting thing about the open coil is that the third voice is used to give a more authentic split sound from the Humbucker, since splitting it isn’t shifting the resonant frequency like splitting a passive pickup would.

Thanks for the reply!

Can I split each of the 3 voices?

Or is the coil tapping function solely assigned to voice 3?

Since voice 3 is a "convincing single coil sound", does it make coil splitting the other 2 voices redundant? Or does it make wiring the pickups in parallel redundant?

Re: Fishman Fluence HSS config with SSA SSP and Open Core humbucker

I was searching for additional Fluence information and I realized no one replied to your latest questions.

On the Open Coil Fluence, Voice 1 is PAF, Voice 2 is the Hot Rod/Clear Neck Tone, Voice 3 is Split with a resonance shift to emulate a single coil. They also have a dedicated South Coil Out to combine with the Single Width (Strat) to get position 2/4 tones.

I’m not sure if you can split the Voice 1 and Voice 2, or if splitting basically gets you that single pickup output to combine with the other pickups. Also, you definitely can’t do parallel with Fluence.

My thinking is you use all three voices for the Open Coil Humbuckers, then use the South Coil Output just for the 2/4.

Also, apparently all classics post Rev 4/5 have voice 3 Coil Split now.

Re: Fishman Fluence HSS config with SSA SSP and Open Core humbucker

I bought the same pickups you did. I am a bit frustrated as well, as I already have the S/S/S setup for a strat. My expectation was to get the HFT and "hot" sounds for the single coils, like in my SSS setup, as well and wire it so I can get all 3 voicings from the Open Core. I have spoken with Fishman and they said that these single coils are different than the SSS set I bought. They also said that it will take a combination of wiring diagrams from the open core / Les Paul setup (2 vol, 2 tone), the HSS diagram from the Single width coils pickups and the Open core HSS setup (1 vol, 2 tones)....
WOW.....talk about complicated and confusing ! I am currently awaiting an email from Fishman that will better help and fascilitate what I am hoping to accomplish.... I hope to get something that will help and will pass it on....

I’ve been debating these for the better part of two years now. I’m thinking an SSS set and an HH set, just go completely opposite to try them both.
