Fix Pedalboards have a new prototype on the burner. It looks awesome.

I've been impressed with Fix Pedalboards since I first heard of them earlier this year. One of my favorite local shops caries them, and getting to see one in person only made me want one more. I had planned on buying one sometime before April, but after seeing their newest prototype, I think I'd better wait. Link.

They are a bit heavier than Pedaltrains of equal size, but the two offset carry handles make them very easy to pickup and move around.

This product is still in R&D IMO. Pedal Train has worked out the sizing issue which is a big plus for me personally.

They have been available here at Music Labs for the past 1.5 years. They are so bright and cool looking (and light) that I was sold on the look. But it ended there in real-time use.
I was able to bring 2 home and put my pedals on them (Type 2 and Type 3).

For me:
Pros:
Lightweight and very cool looking design.
Dedicated place for PS.

Cons:
Doesn't work if you have a volume/wah pedal on the left (special order available)
'FIX" logo bright and visible in front of board.
Insufficient room for cables underneath.
Odd /off sizing for standard pedal selection.
No workable cases yet. The cases they 'suggest' are too low quality for any touring and risky for local work.
I went through several cases possibilities with the backline tour pro at Music Labs and we came up empty. Music Labs in Austin is a major backline /tour/ support company.

I think they are on to something great, though they don't yet have enough real-life feedback yet to make the right adjustments.
Cases, and cable room are a must for a 7+ pedal board. and a 'moveable' PS housing so Vol/Wah can be on the left.

Still nicest looking boards though.

I realize this is a bit of a misnomer with so many new 1/2 and double size pedals. I meant too much space or too tight for my selection. Cheers~

It looked okay for going to rehearsal, and going down town to play at a club or bar, but definitely not sturdy enough for a lengthy touring trip. I would much prefer a hardcase.

I agree they are still in the R&D phase a bit. Hopefully this new model will address some of the issues, and now that they've been available for about a year (not sure when they actually came out), I bet they'll start getting some feedback from people and tweaking the designs.

Cheers bro! Wish I had more to offer. They are good looking though. The purple is wicked cool in person.

Hey brother Matt, Happy New year. Hope you had some 'safe' time on the slopes this season! LOL>

I may have missed something? Those links took me to the same boards I tried. Is there a new version of this other than what is on the 'products' page?
It was my smart and supportive wife who eventually sat down and let me talk through the pros and cons (As I pine over this stuff LOL) and eventually led me to another Pedal Train Pro. That said... If you can find a case that utilizes the bottom of the case as the pedal board bottom, this Fix board would work. The top of that same case also has to be high enough to cover the pedal riser with pedals on it. No easy task. (That is one deep case like a big suitcase). And it must be custom lined to hold everything below the riser securely.

I can't close the pedal train pro case with a basic riser on the board and this is twice as high.

A custom anvil case for the Type 2 was about $150 sans the foam insert. If pedal train didn't make it so easy or if I had more time at the time I was shopping, this would have been a contender for me.

One more thought. Here is the current case from Fix. This is the same one I tried and the one sold here at ML

The case is huge. The main 'black' material feels very thin and flimsy to me but the main concern and hindrance were the latches on the back side and the massive rattling around of the pedals inside This was unanimous between the 3 of us.They look/feel like they will bend. In fact we did bend the latches them while trying to remove the top. Again, an alternate 'real' case would be cool.

If your just gigging about and are careful not to place anything on this case it could be cool. Still a huge case and needs lining LOL! Cheers bros!

Yeah, this one is a new prototype, it definitely looks like there's more room underneath than the current production models (who knows if there actually is). The riser also appears to be a bit lower profile, hopefully it'll make finding a case easier!

I'm fairly happy with my PT-1 at the moment. Nice case, not too heavy, and everything I need fits on there at the moment. I'd like to get one of these eventually, but I know if I buy one now, and they improve them significantly in the next year or so, I'll just want to get another one! Might as well wait and see what they come up with. I've got a lot of other stuff I'd like to buy first!

They came on the scene when they introduced the company at the 2012 LA Amp Show.

The history of the company is sort of interesting. North of Los Angeles (Lancaster), there's a big metal fabrication facility that does military contracts, planes, etc. This family owned company has been in business for decades. The grandson is a guitar player, and knew he could make pedalboards a million times better than everyone else because of his resources. He's a big pedal collector too.....massive collection!

I just wish I would have bought one direct from him, because he offered to let me drive up to Lancaster and have a board custom built at wholesale. Maybe I still could, but it's low on my priorities at the moment.

If I had one built, I'd adjust the dimensions, lose the big logo, and do it in gloss black with a gold racing stripe like the old Mustang Shelby. If I needed something better than a gig bag, I'd probably have to go to a roadcase company for that.
