As long as your able to have the samples show up it should be no problem.
Honestly though the piano roll is extremely handy to know. I find the channel rack more useful for loops that are rather short (you know, synthwave type stuff vs rock band), otherwise I imagine it to be very tedious.
I only use FL studio when having to do loop based stuff though so I don't use it often.
