Flight Case for Les Paul?

What is the preferred Flight Case? I'm specifically looking for my Les Paul. Are there ones to stay away from?? Are there ones that guarantee protection??

As far as I'm concerned, Anvil still makes the best ATA spec flight cases in the business.

I think ATA means that the airline will pay for damaged contents, while regular guitar cases will be handled, but not guaranteed to be in one piece. Does anyone know the actual facts on this? I know it's a rating, but I don't know exactly what it means.
