Floor shop custom or custom shop?

Would a PATB-2 wound on a PATB neck Bobbin be a floor shop custom or a full custom shop pickup? I'm just curious.

Re: Floor shop custom or custom shop?

I'm not sure what you're asking. All PATB's are wound on the same bobbin. Doesn't matter if it's a 1/2/3, neck/bridge, HB'er or single. There's only one PATB "size". (2.75" wide.)

Re: Floor shop custom or custom shop?

The Polepiece spacing is narrower on the neck version. Thus, I would assume the bobbin would be different. It may be the same width, but the holes for the parallel axis pieces are not the same. Honestly, I'd like them to line up on my Les Paul.

Re: Floor shop custom or custom shop?

You, sir, are absolutely correct. And, I'll be danged. I've got the PATB-1 set in my LP Custom, and I never noticed before that the pole spacing was different. Duncan doesn't list that spec in the "dimensions" diagram. Thanks for that correction and info.

P.S. The "outside" dimensions are the same. Each bobbin is 2.75 x .7

Re: Floor shop custom or custom shop?

How off is the bridge polepiece spacing on yours? (Being as I am debating putting these in a black, '84 LPC, it seems relevant) I was thinking the 2. But I have a set of 1s I am trying out in a tele. I was debating a 2 or a crazy 8 in standard spacing.

It's not bad. After dinner, I'll post some close-up pics.
