Floyd Rose Bridge radius question

On a standard Floyd Rose bridge how is the string radius done?
Are some of the saddles higher than others or is the bridge plate radiused under the saddles?

I have a bridge currently and the two saddles in the middle are higher than the rest.
I'm not sure if this is normal or if someone customized it before I picked it up?

I have spare saddles from another identical bridge so I can play with it if this doesn't sound correct...

Thanks!

Re: Floyd Rose Bridge radius question

I've not taken one apart recently, and I don't make a habit of it, but from what I recall, the saddles are higher themselves. The baseplate is flat.
I'm sure one of the guitars I got had the saddles mixed up and the higher ones were in the wrong places so I had to take it all apart and sort it.
I think I'm remembering that right.

So, the two in the middle should be higher than the rest - but it should go up in increments.

Most have different saddles. A few have a radiused base plate. There are some others that use shims to allow for either 10" or 12" radius.

I haven't run into any shims on this bridge so it may be new enough that the saddles will be staggered to get the correct radius.

I'll have to check and see if I have two or three different height saddles. It makes sense that a few could be mixed up. It just doesn't feel right when playing so the answer has to be in the saddles or saddle arrangement.

Thanks for the feedback - time to grab the micrometer and check things out!

Re: Floyd Rose Bridge radius question

On a Floyd Rose™ (not licensed) Trem specifically the saddles themselves are radiused with the highest being in the middle. What you got is normal.
