For sale (or trade) is a Mint condition Dimarzio Steve Morse neck pickup, DP205. It's purple with Steve Morse engraved on pickup, so research leads me to believe this came out of one of his EBMM signature guitars.
$65.00 - Price lowered to $55.00 PP'd and shipped in the lower 48.
I just received this beauty in trade last week and planned to test it out in the neck of m tele. However, I just don't have time to give it a proper go, so hoping someone else can put it to good use. PM me for pics or info.
I've been a Steve Morse fan since I took a chance and bought the first Dixie Dregs album way back when! I was lucky to them live in the 70's. Watching Steve play his franken-partscaster was a revelation and it inspired me to do some pickup/wiring mods on my first partscaster.
Anyway, too much info I know...sorry for rambling on and taking you youngsters down an old farts memory lane! If you are interested in this pup, let me know. It's in minty-perfect condition and the purple color is quite nice.
Here are the specs - Wiring: 4 Conductor - Magnet: Ceramic - Output mV: 250 - DC Resistance: 21.00 K ohm.
A bit of info from Dimarzio: "Steve's neck model has a very specific sound, smooth and uncompressed. The DC resistance spec is very high, but the magnet is not strong, and this combination accounts for the unusual mix of smooth, uncompressed dark tone and low output.
