We finally got our website www.heddatheband.com
and our myspace http://www.myspace.com/heddatheband (a work in progress)
up and running.
So take a look, check out the tunes, and let me know what you think.

We have 4 tunes up right now.
Never Yield, The Gates, Gypsy's Kiss, and Full Circle.
Yield and Gates are the Anthem/Epic style tunes.
Gypsy's and Full are more straight ahead rockers.

Here's what gear I used in the Studio thus far.

My Yellow and Blue Carvins we pretty much used on all the songs for rhythms and leads.
The Gibby Explorer Pro was used for doubling of rhythms and harmonies on Never Yield.
The White Carvin was used on Gates for the 7 string parts.
The Parker Fly was used for the intro of Gates.

From my rack I used my
Rocktron Piranha Preamp
BBE Maximizer
and Peavey 50/50 power amp.
Bypassed the Intellifex. Recorded dry. Then used studio effects later.
Cabs have Celestion g12m70s and Carvin GT12-16 speakers.
Miked both cabs using SM57s.

The actual 4 song EP CD should be out by early September .
It'll be called "The Calm Before".
MP3s are available now on our website though.

Then we'll continue working on our next batch of tunes.
Hopefully releasing the full length CD "The Storm" next year.

Again, hope you like it, let me know your thoughts!

nice power metalz tunes dudez! I dont know much about that music but it makes me think medevial. I can appreciate that it sounds hard to make and technical and makes me happy!!

Re: For you Power Metal, Classic Metal, and Hard Rockers

Thanks, guys!!
Much appreciate you taking a listen.

Keys were provided by a couple of friends of ours.
Carter Hunnicutt and Paul Moore.

Re: For you Power Metal, Classic Metal, and Hard Rockers

Do you actually PLAY with your guitar as high up as in that photo?!

Listening now, singer is cool, reminds me in places a little of the legend Tim Owens. I'm not a power metal fan, but this sounds cool. It's similar to Iced Earth in that it has quite melodic parts, some orchestration but crucially, fantastic crunchy guitars. :)
I'd listen to this for sure, it's extremely well done, I dig it!

Re: For you Power Metal, Classic Metal, and Hard Rockers

Thanks, Diocletian.

Yes, I actually wear my guitar that high. :eek2: :lmao:

It works for me. :)

I can't stand it slung low.

Neither can I man can't play with my guitar round my knees!
Cool stuff reminds me of the band I played in mid 90's. Wish that stuff would really get popular again hate the new drivel.
Love the ST bodied DC 127 and 200.
I played a DC body 89 DC200 throughout the 90's

I still own a pair of those old shreader neck Carvins myself.

Re: For you Power Metal, Classic Metal, and Hard Rockers

love the solos for never yield, crazy....
the guitar tone is not bad at all. maybe it's my speakers, but the sound could bit a little bit more heavy (drums and rythm). let the arrows fly!!!!! sexy, i like that.

the gates: awesome acoustic and clean sounds and riffs! ****, i wish you'd add more "power" to the rythm and drums. lol. only my opinion. great use of voice harmonization, i like that a lot. this tone reminded me of early maiden. don't know why, but yeah.

\really like the lead tones, a lot. this gypsy's kiss song is really cool, but once again i feel lik you are hiding the rythms too much. it's like putting a mask on a hot chick. lol. like the chorus, catchy. i need to learn how to play leads like you. i like the way this song ended.

full circle: this intro is **** good! everything else is ok. this song kinda bored me a little at the end. lol sorry.

maybe this is not the reply you are looking for, lol, but i just thought i'd give you an honest opinion. :bigok: you guys are good, and i'd definately watch you live and steal your music from limewire or somethign! lol jk. this is really good music with more potential than what has been shown in my opinion. good luck guy! :headbang:

Thanks, guys!
I'm glad you're liking it so far.

Emilio,
Any kind of input is good!
Helps us out in the end.

The clips on the myspace page are only at 160kbs.
So, I'm sure there's some tonal loss there.

The short 1 min. clips on the actual website are at 320kbs.

Maybe take a listen to those and see if the rhythms still sound that way to you.

The actual EP is being pressed right now.
Should have the first batch back in about 2 weeks.
I'll keep everyone posted.

As stated on the website, eventually these tunes will be on the full length CD some time next year.
Along with 7 more tunes.
I'm sure by that time all input given to us will be evaluated, and things in the mix will change a bit for the full length CD.
