This sounds great...your really starting to get this tone matching thing down. And your really intriguing me onto how useful the H910 can be on guitar. Care to share some settings?

Can 'studio magic' include muting tracks before they are played? ;) And Don't be afraid to overdub pick slides!

EDIT: What happened in the clapping part?

Thanks - no muting tracks (haha). I wanted the listener to hear the backing track first before my guitar kicked in (so
they could tell it wasn't the original Scholz/Goudreau guitars playing).

I didn't do any overdubs or multitracking... just one straight pass, so no doubletracked pick scrapes, etc...

RE: the clapping part... the 1st clapping part I had to wait a sec and flip to my (turned way down) neck pickup for the acoustic guitar... the clapping part later on... at that point, I stopped playing and let the tune go to the end... again, so the listener can hear that I'm playing with a backing track sans guitar.

The H910 plugin (using Eventide's) is set to default (no detuning) except the "mix" control was set to 100% for widest stereo.

No one really knows if Scholz used the H910 (it definitely came out in time for the 1st Boston album), or double/tripe/quad tracked, or both. I just used it because it's a quick and simple doubler and it also has a similar sound to the SR&D Stereo Chorus Rockmodule.

Wow. I'm a Boston fanatic, so this was a joy to hear. That opening solo tone is SOOO HOT! I used to play this in a band in the early 90s and people went crazy for it. As far as what he used, I remember reading that the first album was recorded using Marshall stackS and the boxes Sholz built himself. I believe the second album was as well, but Third Stage was done exclusively with stuff like the Rockman. I'm quoting from memory so I may be wrong, but that's what I think is what happened.

Thanks - I'm going to be (when I finally get some fuggin' free time) doing a vid on how I got this in the future.

Yes, first two albums with Marshall... Third Stage with Rockman gear.

Dude your killin it. I found in the solo the wet signal was just a touch too loud, as you could hear the pick atrack L-C-R if that makes sense?
