Forgive me, I have found another DiMarzio I like

I love the DiMarzio FS-1 (DP110) in the bridge position of my Strat so much, I thought I'd look for some other DiMarzios to go with it. Bought a Blue Velvet (DP170) cheap on Ebay and put it in the neck position.

Fruitylicious!! :naughty:

It has a great warm sound, but still plenty of bite when you dig in hard. Think I'm gonna get another one to go in the middle.

I've got Duncans in my LPs y'know - that thing Larry & Co did with double cream 'buckers was very bad. :nono:

:smack: :burnout:

both blue velvet and red velvet are good.
if you are playing with single coils try DMZ's twin blade pups like FastTrack 1 and chopper. They offer higher output than SD vintage rails and less than Hot rails. sweet spot, IMHO. Just like a good mini humbucker, clean sound is open and with distiortion it's nasty and no hum. I am considering getting a fender showmaster with three single coils slots and have chopper at bridge and fast track 1 at neck and SD's up and coming stack SC at middle for a all-in-one package. been drooling over this for a while now

LOL

Well, I'll forgive you. A couple years ago I had a Fred in an Ibanez and I got rid of it before I had a decent amp and could really give it the chance that it probably deserved. I wish I still had the darn thing. Enjoy!

I forgot if I mentioned it already on this forum, but I really like my ~1978 PAF in the bridge position of my Tokai LS 120, also sounds very good in combination with the Gibson P-94 at the neck. The double cream bobbins look nice together with the tobacco sunburst, too, so it must be true that cream pickups sound better... ;)

I love the Blue Velvet too!!!

I have it in the middle spot on a chep ibanez strat copy and it has a very nice clean tone. :D

Looks like the Red Velvet may be similar to a Twangbanger:

The punch comes from the bottom-loaded Power Plate™, the sting from custom coil-winding and the Blue Velvet™ magnet stagger, and a unique mid-range "growl" that's a result of a hand-calibrated magnet structure. :scratchch

Gotta love those TMs! :D

What are those blue and red output ratings? Are they both A5 mags?

Re: Forgive me, I have found another DiMarzio I like

I really dig the Fred, Air Norton, and the PAF Pro.

Re: Forgive me, I have found another DiMarzio I like

Hi fellas,

Have you got any experience of Evo's & Breeds???? :newangel:

Re: Forgive me, I have found another DiMarzio I like

I have a fred in my Bridge position on my ibanez s470 and it absolutly rocks its harmonic range is amazing it picks up harmonics like no other pickup ive played. I had a fast track in my middle position for a while but i didnt have the right type of switch for it to work properly or mabye im just an idiot in soldering lol but yeah im selling it right now its white with like 5 and a half inches of wire left so if anyone wants it PM me. Also... the Evo's are very loud and very in your face pickups, i dont reccomend them unless your a very expirenced musician. i dont know much about the breeds though.

that all depends on the encoding as it's 16bit it could be utf16 in which case it would only be 1 character. It could be a chinese symbol or something. His screen name seems to start with an o though instead of a 0.

Re: Forgive me, I have found another DiMarzio I like

a dimarzio...how dare you...get off these forums now!!!

just kidding, i think i may try a breed in the bridge of my strat myself hehe
