I have a DiMarzio Evolution neck pickup that has some odd issues. I just ordered the replacement for it and decided to give the old one away because the seymour duncan forum community rocks! Just drop "evolution" as a reply below and on Christmas at noon I will have picked a winner at random and replied.

I think you possibly have a problem with the wiring, switch, tone pot, etc. etc. instead of the pickup which is probably fine. I had the same issue the other day on a guitar and it was a broken wire from the volume pot to Gnd on my strat. I was installing new pickups and was getting nervous something was wrong with them. Luckily a fix on the wire got it going. I would hang onto the pickup if I were you until everything else has been exhausted including wiring the bridge pickup to where the neck goes and doing the tap test on it vs the tap test before moving it while it is in the bridge position. If it is quiet in the neck position just like the neck pickup was then that tells you it is something about the neck position wiring and not the neck pickup that is the problem. Just saying. I think you are possibly giving away a perfectly good pickup maybe. I am saying this although I thru my name in the hat also to receive it if I win it.

That’s okay. If it’s a good pup then it just needs some new conductor wire put on it. I got a pretty generous bonus from work this year.
