Both my guitars have 24 jumbo frets, im thinking of buying a Strat but they have only 21 med frets, what can I expect in playability differences ? Can you play faster, eaiser chord changes, what ? Are there any advantages of med over jumbo ?

The American Series and American Deluxe series are 22 fret necks...I like jumbo frets for bending, playing lead, and easier vibrato..Chords aren't as comfy on jumbo frets and you also have to watch your intonation while playing...

The medium jumbos are my favorite as a compromise between chording, single note playing, and good vibrato along the frets..

The frets that Fender currently uses on the American Series above is perfect, plus I really like the curvature and the 9.5 radius..The rolled edges are nice also.

When you say super jumbo, are you talking bass frets? Medium jumbo is great for my classic rock and blues styles.

Super Jumbo Frets

Super Jumbo Frets

My favorite fretwire is Dunlop 6100 which I believe are bass frets. I had those on my LP Custom before I had to sell it and the playability was incredible. It played extremely fast with excellent sustain, and it wasn't possible to bend far enough to fret out. Chord playing can be a little strange on such huge frets, but you get used to it after a little while. I'm planning to have my LP Standard refretted as the standard 6130s just feel tiny in comparison.
