fret troubles

so, whenever i play my 3rd fret on the high E string it craps out. if i play, 1st, 2nd, or 4th or higher its fine. JUST the 3rd fret craps out on me. i think its because theres like a small dent in the side of the neck right at the 3rd fret bar. i tried raising the ation, and that didnt do squat. maybe i could go higher but..? how simple/hard is this to fix? or.....is it un-fixable?

You'll probably get a better response if you take this post to the guitar section as opposed to the pickups, but in any case, take the guitar to a luthier and show them the fret. It's fixable. Maybe just recrown the frets. Not a tough fix, but it needs to be done by someone with the tools to do so.
