Fretboard Radius of 7.25 or Smaller?

Diminished Triad

Does any manufacturer of guitars other than Fender produce guitars with 7.25 radius fretboards?

Has anyone ever tried/made a fretboard with a radius of less/smaller than 7.25?

20'' is for pussies and sons of pussies.

I like flat.

I think we all know this thread can be about what we personally prefer. i don't think we need to actually answer DIMtri's question.

What sort of wood do you use in your fretboards ? Flatwood ? Or maybe fire wood ?:firedevil

Re: Fretboard Radius of 7.25 or Smaller?

I've seen 6" radius on radius sanding blocks made for guitars, but never on a neck. I've always wanted to see if it works myself.

Generally speaking, 7-1/4" is only a Fender thing, and there isn't a smaller radius neck made.

Just unbolt a regular Fender neck, turn it over and re-attach it to the guitar. Remove the frets from the back of the neck, cut new slots on the front and install the frets. That should be round enough fo ya.

Re: Fretboard Radius of 7.25 or Smaller?

I worked on a 60s era Vox guitar a few years ago that I'm pretty sure had a 6" radius. Whatever it was, it was a much "tighter" radius than 7.25". All the frets had sprung and I had to rebend and glue them back it. It was a weird guitar...
