is the average fretboard radius of an acoustic guitar smaller or bigger than an electric guitar? please educate me on fretboard radius for different guitars xD thank you!

Re: fretboars raidius

You generally don't find very curved fingerboards on acoustics (and nylon fingerboards are basically flat), but the radius on an acoustic varies as much as on electrics. You really have to look at the specs and understand what a smaller or larger number feels like.

Re: fretboars raidius

Acoustics usually lie at the flatter end of the radius spectrum. On average, they run somewhere between 12" and 16" with Martins and Taylors being more toward the flatter end of that with Fender and Gibson being toward the more rounded end.

Note to pedantic posters: We know there are exceptions to every rule, and that is why we used the words "on average".

Re: fretboars raidius

Classical acoustic guitars have a very flat fretboard. Hardly no radius at all.
