People love to talk about warm tone and about how great it is, but I would like to know what is the iciest, harshest pickup you've heard. Which pickup would be the definition of the word, "cold"?

The bridge pickup in the Blind Melon guy's strat when he plays the solo in "No Rain." It sounds like freakin nails on a chalkboard.

a Strat single-coil with 1 meg vol pot.... iiishh

Seriously the cheapest single-coils Ive tried were uninspiring, tamed highs and dulls as hell!

Gibson Burstbuckers in a non-reverse Gibson Firebird. They sucked so bad that I had to return the guitar. To be fair, I've heard reports that there are actually decent sounding BB's out there.
