Re: From Plain to Plane

Not done - just starting. But easy with just a few stickers and some electrical tape.

Re: From Plain to Plane

I've always wanted to put a my uncle's jump wings on one of my guitars, but I can never find the right one to do it to. Good work, do you plan on changing the pickups?

Re: From Plain to Plane

Looks good so far my friend. It would look even better rotated 90 degrees.

So far - no. I like them well enough. But I also haven't spent a ton of time with them....

Re: From Plain to Plane

Nice start. I'm a hyper-critical person when it comes to angles and proportion and all those art-words, and I have to say you got it all about perfect to my eyes, so far.
Be careful not to go overkill, that's not what the 80s were about,,,,,,,,,,,,oh wait, that's exactly what they were about !

Re: From Plain to Plane

Exactly! It doesn't have enough stickers on it yet!!!

Yes Bob, I'm much happier now that the pics aren't all wonky.

The line straight through the bars runs to the point of the tail on the V

That was a rough call; Parallel to to side or through middle....

Re: From Plain to Plane

very cool Ace!! needs some bullet holes. ; ) The V most suited to that kind of motif as it already looks like a jet or something

You got it right IMO, would have looked completely different just by that small shift to parallel with the side. It's crazy how much difference a few degrees makes with stuff like that, well in this case maybe 20+

I find the lack of parallelism disturbing at a philosophical level, but artistically, I agree - it was the right thing to do.

I also thought about oversized that would not fit entirely on the wing...

Re: From Plain to Plane

Now, if you just add some sort of red accent.

I'm actually looking at a pinup in a red dress, perhaps a red bomb or something under the Floyd. Good eye!

I built a lot of WWII airplane models when I was a kid.
