Frozen Pot

Hello;

I'm looking at a Fender Stratocaster Deluxe Series for a friend of mine. It has Tom Delong on the back plate. It has a single, what looks like a
Seymour Duncan Invader pickup on the bridge. The single control, volume, is frozen and I want to change the pot. I can't tell; does it use a
standard 500k pot or is it some pot specific to that guitar? There's a resistor and capacitor soldered between the poles.

Welcome to the forum. With an Invader, it's probably 500k. Does the pot have numbers on it? A number like 254 would be 250k, and 504 would be 500k. Two significant digits, then the 3rd number indicates the number of zero's.

Most likely a 500K pot I think.
With no tone control some might choose a 250K instead, to warm the highs a bit.
But with an Invader that shouldn't really be necessary. :smokin:

Yes. Photos. I thought I uploaded these yesterday

you mean put the spring back on the pup height adjustment screw where itll do some good?

Yea. both springs were stuck to the PU and one screw was hanging when I got it. I had to use Soft Scrub to get the mung off the pickguard. It looks nice now, it's just unplayable

If you have a meter, you can still measure it, even if it's frozen. Just measure across the outside terminals, after its removed from the circuit.
